PRP Therapy: Hair loss treatment
PRP Hair Restoration is suitable for both men and women. It is a state of the art, non surgical, totally natural, alternative medical procedure used for the treatment of hair loss or hair thinning. It is an injectable treatment which uses the patient’s own blood.
DESCRIPTION
PRP for hair loss is a medical treatment consisting of three steps wherein the person’s blood is drawn out of his body, processed well, and then re-injected into his scalp. It has been observed that PRP injections promote natural hair growth, improve blood supply to the hair follicles, and increase the thickness of hair shafts.
This is a three-step process explained below in brief-
- The blood of the person is drawn and put into a machine (centrifuge) that spins the blood quite fast to separate the fluids of different densities.
- The blood is divided into 3 parts after 10 minutes or so, namely platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and Red Blood Cells.
- Out of it, the platelet-rich plasma is drawn in a syringe and re-injected into the areas that require hair growth.
Advantages of PRP Therapy against hair loss are:
- Simple, non surgical procedure
- Multiple Injections: procedure lasting approximately 60 minutes
- Safe and reliable results
- Very quick recovery period
- Beautiful and above all extremely natural looking end results
PRP therapy is used in hair restoration for natural looking results
With a thin needle, your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. Then the growth factors in your blood cells do their job and hair growth is naturally stimulated.
PRP Hair Restoration is suitable for both men and women. It is a state of the art, non surgical, totally natural, alternative medical procedure used for the treatment of hair loss or hair thinning. It is an injectable treatment which uses the patient’s own blood.
Our blood plasma (PRP) contains active growth factors which can promote hair growth. Helping to restore one’s confidence, the end result is a fuller, healthier looking head of hair.
The cost of PRP hair treatment can be considerable, as more sessions may be needed to obtain the desired result. PRP is also being used in conjunction with some hair transplant procedures.
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy: what is it and how does it work?
The doctor takes a little blood which is then treated in a centrifuge so that only the enriched cells or platelets (PRP) remain. The PRP or highly concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma, including essential growth proteins, is injected into the scalp or areas to be treated using a special micro needle. It is possible to use PRP Hair Loss Therapy alone to promote hair growth or it can also be used in combination with hair transplant or restoration surgery.
Methods/Solutions
There are four types of PRP therapy, used majorly as per the requirement.
1. Red or Leucocyte-Rich PRP
Red PRP has concentrated white blood cells and platelets. In this treatment, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection is used to treat the underlying conditions, especially in orthopedics and sports.
2. Amber or Leucocyte-Poor PRP
Amber PRP has concentrated platelets but not many white blood cells. These platelets help in increasing collagen synthesis, stimulating the extracellular matrix, and activating fibroblasts.
3. Autologous conditioned serum
This one has highly concentrated white blood cells with its growth factors. An anti-inflammatory cytokine, a special protein, provides relief from pain especially when it’s knee osteoarthritis.
4. Platelet Lysate
This one only contains highly concentrated growth factors and not any white blood cells. It’s best for androgenetic alopecia and female pattern hair loss, it works for various other therapies too though.
Effects/ Causes
There are various benefits of going for PRP treatment for hair growth.
1. Minimally-invasive method
PRP treatment is non-surgical and least invasive. It can simply be performed at a dermatologist’s clinic. The procedure and recovery both are quick.
2. Doesn’t leave any scar
This process involves just a needle for drawing out and then re-injecting the blood. It doesn’t require any area to be cut and hence, doesn’t leave the patient in stress of getting scarred.
3. Very effective
PRP is being used universally by all dermatologists and hair experts. This treats majorly all the hair concerns. It is effective enough to show the results within 3 months.
4. Safe to use
Since PRP is minimally invasive and non-surgical, it is one of the safest hair treatments available right now. Moreover, since one’s own blood is inserted through injection, there is no risk of any infection or allergic reactions.
5. Highly convenient
PRP doesn’t have any downtime. The patients don’t have to stay in the clinic for the whole day. They can come anytime as per their convenience and leave immediately after the treatment. They can resume their routine work the very same day.
6. Causes very little discomfort
Since PRP is non-surgical, it causes the least discomfort to the patients. This also depends on their pain tolerance level and the area to be treated.
7. Can be customized
Just like any other treatment, PRP is also customizable. Your scalp is studied, the magnitude of hair loss is checked, and accordingly, the treatment for hair restoration is planned.
8. Provides Natural-Looking Results
This procedure triggers the inactive hair follicles and helps in hair growth. It targets the root cause of the problem and since no outside agents are introduced in the body, it shows natural results.
